September 12, 2017

Links to things I mentioned:

  • Dyeing yarn in a crockpot tutorial
  • Tempest cardigan
  • Villiviini
  • Ondine
  • Orange or colorwork KAL chatter thread
  • The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

Question of the Week

What is a bad habit you wish you could break?  Alternatively, what's a good habit that you just can't seem to get started?

If you want to see more of my knitting, feel free to befriend me on Ravelry.

There's also a Ravelry group that can be found here, if you enjoy that sort of thing...

Tutorial - Dyeing yarn in a crock pot

September 12, 2017

Forgot to mention that this method only works with yarn that has a high proportion of animal fiber (wool, alpaca, yak, Angora, etc).

There's also a Ravelry group for the podcast, if you are into that sort of thing.

March 13, 2017

There's not really anything to link here, but definitely share your results if this spurs you to dye your first skein of yarn!  I can be found on Twitter, Instagram, and Ravelry as @purlbug and you can find the Revelry group for the 10,000 Stitches Podcast here.

Afterthought Heel Tutorial - Getting Started

February 28, 2016

Hopefully this will be helpful for those of you who want to do an afterthought heel but are a bit afraid of picking up stitches and snipping yarn in the middle of an otherwise perfectly functional sock tube. :-) Be brave!

Sometimes, I take pictures of things...

Just finished my first pair of “work socks” here in AL! These have lived in my desk drawer since the start of the year and I get a few rows done when I’m in meetings or debugging code. The stripes matching up after the gusset was 10

New podcast is up! Wherein I only talk about ~one~ project and why I’m going to shift my focus to being a very monogamous knitter for a while. Curious? Links to everywhere you can find it are in my profile. :-)
The body is finished! I kitchenered all 221 stitches of ribbing to the bottom because apparently I hate myself *a lot* but I really like how clean the bottom edge looks.
