10,000 Stitches Podcast, Episode 9 - Where did January go?

February 3, 2016

Links to things I mentioned:

  • Basket Weave Rib socks
  • Twisted socks
  • Drakar socks
  • Sockengrippe socks
  • Ribbed socks KAL thread
  • Still not sure if you can just click through to this, but here's my queue so you can see the socks I have planned for the cables months
  • And it was Vicky of Baerenwolle who inspired me to do the Snozzberries socks, I mean how awesome are these?

Went to the gym πŸ‹πŸ», then changed back into pj's (all-over Scandinavian print!) ☺️ for the remainder of the day, I will only exercise my fingers. One sock down! #BAERENWOLLE colorway Mermaid (will be available again on Friday), pattern "Snozzberries" by R. Coopey #coopknits #knitting #handknitsocks #handknit #sockknitting #sockyarn #handdyedyarn #operationsockdrawer

"Went to the gym πŸ‹πŸ», then changed back into pj's (all-over Scandinavian print!) ☺️ for the remainder of the day, I will only exercise my fingers. One sock..."

  • Last week's Knitting Expat podcast where Mina talks about her sock stretching issues
  • And finally, here is a good video showing a Van de Graaff generator

Question of the Week

What is your favorite gauge for knitting socks?  I knit quite tightly, usually around 8-10 sts/inch.  Also, do you adjust your gauge to fit a pattern, or are you stubborn like me and you adjust a pattern to fit your default gauge?

If you want to see more of my knitting, feel free to befriend me on Ravelry or Instagram.

There's also a Ravelry group that can be found here, if you enjoy that sort of thing...

Sometimes, I take pictures of things...

Just finished my first pair of “work socks” here in AL! These have lived in my desk drawer since the start of the year and I get a few rows done when I’m in meetings or debugging code. The stripes matching up after the gusset was 10
Spherical farm animals found in the wild!
New podcast is up! Wherein I only talk about ~one~ project and why I’m going to shift my focus to being a very monogamous knitter for a while. Curious? Links to everywhere you can find it are in my profile. :-)
The body is finished! I kitchenered all 221 stitches of ribbing to the bottom because apparently I hate myself *a lot* but I really like how clean the bottom edge looks.
