Do you knit holiday specific items? If so, do you only use them for that particular holiday?

Question of the Week
Are you doing any holiday knitting this year? How on top of it are you?
Nov. 7, 2016
So, this is the first of my holiday knitting. This project is a hat for Wesley and it is actually a birthday present (his birthday is mid-December) and in reality I will probably give it to him as soon as it's finished. Because I'm awful at keeping secrets.
And it's not like this project is being kept a complete secret from Wesley. After all, we live together in a tiny apartment and he has seen this yarn before, but I'm doing my best to keep it out of his sight and he doesn't go poking around my project bags.
The nitty-gritty details:
I'll make further updates to the project within this post so keep an eye out if you are curious.

How do you store your knitting needles? Especially ones that are commonly used but aren't in use at the moment?
Question of the Week
If you could recommend just one knitting book to someone (doesn't have to be for socks), what would it be and why?

Other than knitting, what is something else that you insist on doing even though it might not save you any time or money? For me it's cooking things like making broth from scratch (makes me feel like a pioneer lady!).
Question of the Week
Gut reaction - what is your favorite movie? You know, the movie you would be happy watching any day of the week. Also, are you the type of person who enjoys watching the same movie multiple times? Or is it once and done?

When you purchase a pattern, what do you feel you are paying for? The design itself, editorial skills, pictures and layout, quality directions? (Or something else I didn't think of?)

(Not very many links this week because I just wasn't inspired to do a lot of knitting last week. But I can already tell that I'm headed back to full steam for next week.)

What have you done recently that made you feel like a total boss? (Doesn't have to be knitting related.)

How do you feel about selfies? Do you take them? Do you get annoyed when other people take them? I love selfies because I think they really capture the moment I am in without feeling stuffy or staged.

When counting rows completed on your knitting, do you count the row of loops currently on the needle as a completed row? Whichever way you do it, do you have a real reason or is it just because that's how you've always done it? (I don't count it but I don't have a real reason why...)

Star Trek or Star Wars? (Or some other space-based AU, like Firefly or Battlestar Galactica...)
